Bob is an Albuquerque criminal defense attorney with over 38 years of experience providing outstanding criminal defense to both adults and juveniles, facing misdemeanor or felony charges, at all levels of the judicial system. His many years of experience have also been dedicated to providing legal representation to people who have been injured as the result of an accident, or by the negligence, wrongdoing or abuse of power by others. Bob’s compassionate approach with his clients puts them at ease discussing the facts of their case and ensures that they are able to help develop the best strategy for an optimal outcome.
Many years in private practice have led to Bob's skilled handling of thousands of cases where he has gained vast knowledge in all areas of the legal arena. Bob is a skilled negotiator, enabling him to resolve complex criminal cases achieving the best possible result for his clients. His reputation as a formidable opponent, coupled with his unquestioned integrity, has allowed Bob to form many valuable friendships with fellow attorneys, prosecutors, judges, clerks, bailiffs, correctional officers, probation officers and judicial assistants which are of great benefit to his practice and to his clients today.
A native New Mexican, Bob was born in Deming and raised in Santa Fe. He received his bachelor’s degree from Eastern New Mexico University and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law. Bob is licensed to practice in all New Mexico State Courts, the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, and the United States Court of Appeals, 10th Circuit.
He is a member of the State Bar of New Mexico, the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Bob has been an active member of the University of New Mexico Lobo Club since 1988, serving many years on the Board of Directors, and serving as President in 2006-2007.
When he isn’t working, Bob enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, reading, cooking, traveling (especially when it involves spending time with his three adult sons!) and following UNM Lobo athletics.
